The Glen Ellyn Park District offers a variety of sports not found in the Midwest, from football, baseball, football, basketball and soccer to baseball and softball. The district offers year-round camping, clinics and leagues, as well as a wide range of activities for children, adults and seniors.
Starting at age 5, through high school to elite division, it offers year-round camps, tents, clinics and activities for children ages 6 and up. Courses for 14 years offer year-round courses for children up to 18 months old and the Grasshoppers Tumbling Team.
These little athletes take part in a variety of sports and are taught by the same coaches who also coach the Lakers travel team. There is a full day camp for children aged 6 to 12 months, and packages can build on this.
This hand - selected men and women will be not only with talented teachers, but also with people of outstanding character who are dedicated to teaching the game in a positive and entertaining atmosphere. This talented team of coaches offers a wide variety of sports, such as basketball, volleyball, football, athletics, lacrosse and volleyball. The mix of professional and teaching experience allows us to create a balanced and comprehensive curriculum for our students.
The mandatory certification process ensures that all staff are familiar with new coaching techniques, theories and instructions. Each trainer is required to participate in the annual certification process in order to maintain the professional standards we insist on. With our team of experienced coaches we are able to offer our young athletes a high quality education. No matter what our training program is, the bottom line is to use the best and most effective methods of coaching, coaching technique and coaching theory.
We provide a safe environment for everyone, whether you are a member of our facility or not, and we count on a variety of activities for children and adults. Sunset Pool is a great place to go in and out in summer with a wide range of outdoor activities, from swimming and diving to tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, lacrosse, golf and more. Outdoor activities include classes 5-12, outdoor activities for classes 4-8, indoor activities from 9-14 and indoor and outdoor events for grades 9-12.
The baseball program focuses on youth development and gives young athletes the opportunity to develop their sporting potential and to give life lessons on the side. Running training allows children aged 6 to 14 to build stamina while running and learn the right shape.
Rookie (Grades 3 and 4) is a contactless program designed to help children learn the game. The Glen Ellyn Park District offers girls lacrosse for classes Morning to afternoon lessons from 8 to 12, girls "soccer from 6 to 14 years and lacrosse for boys and girls of all ages. The former Main Street School is also home to GlenEllyn High School and Glen Elyn Elementary School, but it is among the buildings that count. It includes surrounding parks as well as a number of other schools in the area, including Oak Park Elementary, Glenbrook Elementary and Oak Grove Elementary.
It hosts a variety of private teams and programs, with Glen Ellyn High School, Oak Park Elementary, Glenbrook Elementary and Oak Grove Elementary all available.
The Bulls and Sox Academy in Glen Ellyn is located in the new Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center. The Football League, which takes place in the spring and autumn, is a great opportunity for pre-K-10 kids to learn skills and be part of a team in a competitive, intense and competitive football game. It has partnered with the Wheaton Park District to offer a variety of sports programs, including football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, athletics and athletics.
Glen Ellyn Elementary School is Glenbard Consolidated High School, a public high school with an enrollment of about 1,500 students. The high schools are called Glenberg, which is part of the Glenbrook - Wheaton Unified School District (GED) system.

The Glen Oak Country Club served the communities of Oak Park and Glen Ellyn during World War I, and the first Glenbard High School was built in 1922. The Glenellyn Hotel's Great Lake opened in 1924, the same year that much of a business district was destroyed by fire. Glen Oak High School, a public school with a school enrollment of 1,200 students, is located in Glen Oak, near the lake, at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Lake Avenue. In Glen Elyn, Glenbrook - Wheaton Transit operates a route through the village on Roosevelt Road. The station is also located in Glen Brook Park, just north of Glen Glen, about 800 m south of Lake Park.
There is an inn, Hasty's Tavern, built in 1846 and used in the 2008 film "Witless Protection," which starred Larry the Cable Guy. Glen Ellyn is home to the fictional character Joe Patroni, played by George Kennedy in all four films in the airport franchise. It was also used as a filming location for "Star Wars: The Awakening of Power, "a Lucas film (1986) starring Corey Haim and George Lucas, John Travolta and Robert Downey Jr., in June 2007. Stagecoach Festival in Galena, Illinois, during its first year of operation in 1976 and its second year in 1977.
