Glenellyn Illinois Museums

Morton Arboretum is a sculptural garden and summer garden in the Morton Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Rock Island Arsenal Museum has been open since its opening on July 1, 1953. Operated by the Naval History and Heritage Command, it is located on the north side of Lake Shore Drive in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. The National Museum of the American Sailor, operated by the Chicago Academy of Sciences, is also open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is operated by the Rock Island Historical Society and is located at the corner of North Main Street and Lake Street in Lake Park. The Glen Ellyn, Illinois-based museum, which is under the command of Naval History and Heritage, is open to the public.

The Regional Fire Museum of Aurora: The Aurora County Fire Museum is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It can be done at 901 W. Main Street, Aurora, IL 61501, or at this address, which is in the parking lot behind the Aurora Police Department, in front of City Hall.

This toy museum and store is located on the north side of Woodfield Mall, which is located by the Aurora Police Department on the corner of Main Street and Main Avenue. Built for General Edward Needles Kirk, the property is an example of Italian architecture. Founded in 1856 as the Chicago Historical Society, it is the oldest historical museum in the United States and the only one of its kind in Illinois. The Dillon Museum of Local History is open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends and public holidays from 8.30 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. M., and Sunday from 7: 00 a., 9: 20 a and 12: 45, Monday and Tuesday from 18: 25, Friday and Saturday from 10: 00 to 16: 00 and Thursday from 13: 00 to 17: 00. This museum, operated by the Glenellyn History Society, preserves the tavern built by war veteran Moses Stacy in 1812 and its history as a tavern for family and friends. Stacy Tavern Museum: The Chicago History Museum is open Thursday and Friday from 5: 50 p.m. to 3: 00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 2: 00 p.m. to 5: 55 p.m. and weekends from 3: 05 p.m. to 4: 35 p.m.

Founded in 1967 as an addition to the Art Institute of Chicago, it has been housed since 1996 in the former National Guard arsenal, a limestone and aluminum building designed to house the museum. It includes thirteen walk-in zones and is dedicated to Legos and other building toys, including Erector sets (r).
